About these terms
These are the terms on which we provide Glimpse, our Chrome extension and related services. By installing or using Glimpse, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please uninstall and don't subscribe.
Where you've signed up for a paid plan, these terms together with your subscription form a contract between you and us.
Who we are
Glimpse is operated by Ashlands AI Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17185790), with its registered office at Ashlands, High Street, Burwash, East Sussex, TN19 7HS. In these terms, "we", "us", and "our" mean Ashlands AI Ltd.
You can reach us at hello@ashlandsai.com.
What Glimpse is
Glimpse is a Chrome extension with three tools:
- Scanner reads terms and conditions, contracts, or other text you provide and gives you an AI-generated risk rating and summary.
- Ticker looks up stock prices and company data for listed companies.
- Company looks up company information from public registries (UK Companies House, US SEC EDGAR) and surfaces it alongside related news, with an AI-generated overview.
Glimpse is an information tool. It is not a substitute for professional advice. See the "What Glimpse is NOT" section below for the important detail.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Glimpse. If you're using Glimpse on behalf of an organisation (for example, on a company device or for work purposes), you confirm you have the authority to accept these terms on its behalf.
Your install
Glimpse generates an anonymous identifier on each install. You don't create an account with a username and password. If you subscribe, your subscription is held against this identifier and against the email and customer record held by Stripe.
If you uninstall and reinstall Glimpse, you will get a new identifier. If you've subscribed and want your subscription transferred to a new install, contact us at hello@ashlandsai.com.
Free tier and paid plans
- Free: up to 5 lookups per calendar month, shared across Scanner, Ticker, and Company.
- Pro: up to 100 lookups per month.
- Pro+: up to 250 lookups per month.
- Business: up to 1,000 lookups per month.
Current pricing for paid plans is shown in the extension and at glimpse.ashlandsai.com. Prices are quoted in US dollars and may be subject to local taxes.
A "lookup" is a single request to one of our tools. Cached results — where someone (including you) has run the same query within the last 15 minutes — do not count as a new lookup. Requests where our service couldn't reach the necessary data sources (for example, an upstream provider was down) do not count either; we only count a lookup when we've successfully done the work.
If you reach your monthly limit, you can either upgrade to a higher tier or wait until the next calendar month, when your allowance resets.
Payments, billing, and cancellation
Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.
- Billing cycle: monthly, starting on the day you subscribe.
- Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically each month.
- Cancellation: you can cancel at any time via the customer portal link in the extension. Once you cancel, you can choose between immediate cancellation (your tier reverts to Free at once, with a refund of the most recent invoice if you opt for it) or end-of-period cancellation (you keep your tier until the renewal date and are not charged again). The portal is self-service and available 24/7.
- Failed payments: if a payment fails, we'll retry per Stripe's standard dunning process. If recovery fails, your subscription will be cancelled and you'll revert to the Free tier.
- Price changes: we may change subscription prices. If we do, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice via the extension and/or email (held by Stripe). Continued use after the new price takes effect counts as acceptance. If you don't accept, cancel before the new price applies.
Refunds and your cooling-off rights
Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you normally have 14 days from the start of a digital service contract to cancel and receive a refund. However, by subscribing and starting to use Glimpse straight away, you're agreeing that we begin supplying the service immediately and that you waive your 14-day cooling-off right. This is standard for online subscriptions and is the only way we can give you instant access to a paid tier.
For everything else:
- We don't offer refunds for partial months as a rule. If you cancel mid-cycle, you keep your tier until the end of the current period.
- Where something has clearly gone wrong — for example, you were charged in error, or the service was unavailable for a substantial period — email hello@ashlandsai.com and we'll sort it out fairly. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
Acceptable use
When using Glimpse, you agree not to:
- Use Glimpse in any way that breaks the law, infringes someone's rights, or breaches their privacy.
- Resell Glimpse output, redistribute it as a paid product, or build a competing service from our data.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise try to extract the source of the extension or the backend.
- Try to circumvent the lookup limits or otherwise abuse the service — for example, by automating extension behaviour, generating fake identifiers, or sharing a paid subscription across many concurrent users.
- Submit content to Scanner that you don't have the right to submit (someone else's confidential contract, for example).
- Use Glimpse to harass, defame, or build profiles on individuals.
- Use Glimpse in violation of the terms of any third-party data source we rely on (see "Third-party data" below).
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach this section.
Our intellectual property
The Glimpse extension software, our website, the look and feel, and the Glimpse name and logo are owned by us. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Glimpse for its intended purpose during the period of your subscription (or while using the Free tier).
Content you submit
You keep ownership of any text or queries you submit to Glimpse. By submitting them, you grant us a limited licence to process them for the sole purpose of returning the result you've asked for, and to cache them briefly as described in our Privacy Policy.
We have no interest in your submitted content beyond serving your query. We don't read it, share it, or use it to train models.
What Glimpse is NOT
This section is important. Glimpse is an information and decision-support tool, not a professional adviser.
Specifically:
- Glimpse is not legal advice. Scanner gives you an AI-generated summary and risk rating for terms and conditions, but it is not a substitute for a solicitor or qualified legal opinion. Don't rely on it to assess whether a contract is safe to sign.
- Glimpse is not financial or investment advice. Ticker shows stock prices and basic data. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority or any other regulator to provide investment advice, and nothing in Glimpse should be treated as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security.
- Glimpse is not a credit or due-diligence service. Company surfaces public data and AI-generated summaries. The information may be incomplete, outdated, or wrongly matched (for example, the wrong subsidiary of a multinational). AI synthesis can produce errors. Don't make significant business or commercial decisions — extending credit, signing supply contracts, M&A activity — based on Glimpse alone.
- Glimpse is not real-time. Stock prices, news, and company data come from third-party sources and may be delayed or stale. Cached results may be up to 15 minutes old.
- AI output can be wrong. Our summaries are generated by large language models, which can produce confident-sounding but incorrect statements ("hallucinations"). Always verify anything that matters before acting on it.
You use Glimpse on this understanding and take responsibility for any decision you make based on its output.
Third-party data and services
Glimpse relies on third-party data providers and services to function:
- Companies House (UK government): public UK company data
- SEC EDGAR (US government): public US company filings
- Finnhub: stock and market data
- The GDELT Project: news data
- Anthropic: AI processing (Claude)
- Stripe: payment processing
- Cloudflare: networking and hosting
Our service depends on these providers being available. If any of them fail or change their terms, Glimpse may be temporarily or permanently unable to deliver some or all of its features.
The data shown by Glimpse originates from these third parties, who hold their own rights in it. By using Glimpse, you agree to comply with their terms where applicable — for example, you may not bulk-extract Companies House data through Glimpse and republish it commercially.
Service availability and changes
We aim to keep Glimpse available and working, but we don't promise specific uptime, performance, or feature continuity.
We may add, change, remove, or restructure features over time, including the tools available, the lookup limits, and the way pricing tiers work. Significant changes will be flagged in the extension or by email (where Stripe holds one for you).
We're not responsible for outages or interruptions caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including failures of third-party providers, internet infrastructure, regulatory action, or any other force majeure event.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Glimpse if you breach these terms (for example, by abusing the service or breaching the acceptable use rules), or if we're required to by law.
You can stop using Glimpse at any time by uninstalling the extension and, if you have a subscription, cancelling it as described above.
If we terminate your access for cause (a clear breach of these terms by you), we won't refund any unused portion of a paid subscription.
Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under UK consumer protection law, including your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
Subject to the above, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for Glimpse during that period.
If you're using Glimpse on the Free tier, you do so at your own risk. We accept no liability to Free-tier users for losses arising from your use of Glimpse, except for any liability we cannot exclude or limit under UK law (such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud).
We're not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses, including loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or losses arising from decisions you made based on Glimpse output. See "What Glimpse is NOT" above — you understand the tool's limits and use it on that basis.
Other legal stuff
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be settled by the courts of England and Wales, except where you have non-waivable rights as a consumer in your country of residence to bring proceedings in your local courts.
Changes to these terms. We may update these terms over time. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when. Where changes are material, we'll flag them in the extension and/or by email. Continued use after a change takes effect counts as acceptance. If you don't accept, you can cancel and uninstall.
No assignment by you. You can't transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours to a successor entity (for example, as part of a sale or restructuring of our business).
Severability. If any part of these terms is held to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
Entire agreement. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any subscription you've taken out, are the whole agreement between us about Glimpse.
